Welcome

ANZAPPL is very proud to inform you that a Tasmanian ANZAPPL is currently being established.  This is primarily thanks tothe work of Dr Sally Kelty (UTAS, Tasmanian institute of Law Enforcement Studies), Dr Amy Washington (Community Corrections, Hobart) and Mr Ernest Jilg  (Community Corrections, Hobart).  Please stay tuned as more information is announced.

Events

Dear ANZAPPL member / prospective member

At present we don’t have a TAS ANZAPPL branch. A few professionals in the field met to discuss the possibility of changing that and starting up a small branch, initially here in Hobart. The benefits of having our own branch could be to update professional knowledge, to share ideas / information, to spend time with like minded peers.

If you are interested in please come to the first meet and greet

Time 5pm
Date 18th May, 2012
Venue Community Corrections, Highfield House, 114 Bathurst Street, Hobart

On the night we will have some refreshments and we can decide where to from here and what sort of branch we want. For example, how many times a year should we meet, what sort of meetings we should have, what sort of presentation topics are relevant for our work. We also need to decide upon an inaugural committee who will have a few tasks this year in getting the branch registered and incorporated. At the meeting we will vote on nominations.

The Agenda for the initial meet and greet will include

1. Resolution to set up a TAS Branch.
2. Election of office holders
3. Approval of constitution
4. Resolution to apply for incorporation

If you would like to nominate for a position on the inaugural committee – please can you fill in the details in form below and return by email to sally.kelty@utas.edu.au by 15th May 2012

Nomination Form

A copy of the draft constitution will be emailed to you before the meeting. It is based upon a typical constitution of an ANZAPPL branch.  It would be fantastic if people could rsvp by Friday 11th May.

Just a reminder that to nominate, and to vote, you must be a member of ANZAPPL. If you have not yet joined, please do so at their website before the meeting.  http://www.anzappl.org/membership.htm
